Which sunscreen is the best?
The best sunscreens have at least SPF 30 and are something you are comfortable wearing regularly. Beyond that, we recommend zinc oxide as the best ingredient to block both UVA and UVB rays.
What is UVA vs UVB?
The SPF number on sunscreen tells us how well a sunscreen blocks UVB which typically causes Burns. The active ingredients tell us how well a sunscreen blocks UVA which typically causes Aging and brown sun spots. Zinc Oxide is an excellent blocker of both UVA and UVB. Our favorite brand is EltaMD because it has high levels of Zinc Oxide without being white or pasty as often experienced with other zinc sunscreens.
